- 4 slices of rustic sourdough bread
- 4 tablespoons of basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 slices of mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices of provolone cheese
- 2 tablespoons of butter, softened
- Optional: 1 ripe tomato, sliced thinly
