Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium head of cabbage, finely chopped
- 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free if preferred)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped cabbage, ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and egg. Mix until well combined.
- Season the mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix again to ensure even distribution of the spices.
- Form the mixture into patties, about the size of your palm, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush each patty lightly with olive oil to help them brown in the oven.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the burgers are cooked through and have a golden-brown crust. Flip the patties halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
- Let the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
