Ingredients
Scale
To create this delightful dish, gather these ingredients:
- 12 ounces spaghetti or your choice of pasta
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
For an extra flavor punch, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes or swapping the Parmesan with Pecorino Romano for a different twist.
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. This step always reminds me of how the simplest of aromas can fill a kitchen with warmth and anticipation.
- Add the pasta, broth, heavy cream, and dried Italian herbs to the pot. Stir well to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and cover the pot. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and has absorbed most of the liquid.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts and the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and let the pasta sit for a couple of minutes to allow the sauce to thicken further. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
