Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower rice)
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Optional: steamed broccoli or stir-fried vegetables of your choice
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then reduce the heat to medium.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes. Pour this mixture over the cooked beef, stirring to coat evenly.
- Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the beef over a bed of cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
- For a complete meal, add steamed broccoli or your favorite stir-fried vegetables on the side.
