Learn how to make delicious Easy Mississippi Chicken. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet of ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet of au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 68 pepperoncini peppers
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For those who prefer a bit more spice, feel free to add a few extra pepperoncini or a dash of cayenne pepper. If you’re out of au jus mix, a simple beef broth powder can be a good substitute.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in a large baking dish. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken breasts.
  4. Slice the butter into pats and arrange them over the chicken. Nestle the pepperoncini peppers among the chicken pieces.
  5. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  6. Once done, remove the foil and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

This recipe doesn’t just fill the house with an incredible aroma, but also leaves you with a sense of accomplishment that comes from serving something truly delicious. A tip from my kitchen: use the juices from the dish as a sauce over rice or mashed potatoes for an extra punch of flavor!
