Learn how to make delicious Delicious French Dip Squares. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

If you’re in a pinch, you can substitute the crescent roll dough with puff pastry for a slightly different texture, or swap out provolone for Swiss cheese for a nuttier flavor.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and lay it flat on the prepared baking sheet. Press the seams together to form a single sheet.
  3. Layer the roast beef evenly over the dough, followed by the provolone cheese slices.
  4. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it on top of the cheese layer, pressing the seams together.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Brush this mixture over the top layer of crescent dough.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. While the squares are baking, heat the beef broth in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm.
  8. Once baked, let the squares cool slightly before cutting them into individual portions. Serve with warm beef broth for dipping.
