Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
For those looking to make substitutions, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version, and if you’re out of Italian seasoning, a mix of dried basil, oregano, and thyme works wonders.
Instructions
- Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add the butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant, but be careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it starts to thicken.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them to ensure they are well-coated. Let them simmer in the sauce for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
