Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large croissants, sliced in half horizontally
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 8 slices of cooked bacon or ham
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
- Fresh spinach leaves (optional)
Feel free to mix and match ingredients to suit your taste or dietary needs. Swap cheddar for Swiss, or bacon for a vegetarian option like roasted red peppers. The possibilities are as endless as the stories a good meal can tell.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to warm the croissants later.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Pour the egg mixture into the skillet, stirring gently to scramble. Cook until just set, about 3-4 minutes.
- Place the croissant halves, cut side up, on a baking sheet. Top each bottom half with scrambled eggs, a slice of cheese, and two slices of bacon or ham.
- Add avocado slices and spinach leaves if using, for an extra layer of flavor and texture.
- Cover with the top halves of the croissants and place in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the croissants are warm.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately, sharing a story or two over this delightful creation.
