Ingredients
Gather these ingredients for a dip that will surely become a family favorite:
- 8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup of your favorite beer
- 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional for a kick)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh chives for garnish
If you’re looking to switch things up, feel free to substitute the cheddar or mozzarella with other cheeses like Gouda or Monterey Jack for a different flavor profile. The beer choice can also be tailored to your taste—lager for a milder flavor or a stout for a richer taste.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese is melted and smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Slowly pour in the beer, stirring constantly to incorporate it into the cheese mixture.
- Add the Dijon mustard, minced garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
- Stir in the crumbled bacon, reserving a small amount for garnish.
- Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish and bake for 15 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and slightly golden on top.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the reserved bacon and chopped chives.
- Serve warm with your choice of dippers, such as crusty bread, pretzels, or sliced veggies.
One tip I’ve learned from my grandmother is to always taste as you go. Adjust the seasonings as needed—everyone’s palate is different, and it’s the small tweaks that make a recipe your own.
