Learn how to make delicious Baked Maple Donut Bars. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar

If you’re out of maple syrup, honey can be a delightful substitute, though the flavor will be slightly different. And if you’re looking for a dairy-free option, almond milk works beautifully in this recipe.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough donuts.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the bars are baking, prepare the maple glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and confectioners’ sugar until smooth.
  7. Once the bars are done, let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before drizzling with the maple glaze.
  8. Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before cutting into bars and serving.

These donut bars remind me of the joy of transformation in cooking—how a few simple ingredients can come together to create something magical.
