Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each), skin on or off depending on preference
- 1 package (5.2 ounces) Boursin cheese, garlic & fine herbs flavor
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried dill)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Substitution tips: If you can’t find Boursin cheese, cream cheese mixed with fresh garlic and herbs works well as a substitute. For herbs, feel free to swap dill for tarragon or chives based on what you have on hand or your family’s favorites.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, mix the Boursin cheese with minced garlic and chopped dill until well combined. This step reminds me of standing on a stool in my grandmother’s kitchen—watching her mix ingredients with such ease, turning simple things into magic.
- Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet. Spread an even layer of the Boursin mixture over the top of each fillet.
- Arrange lemon slices on top of the cheese-covered salmon for a burst of freshness and a beautiful presentation.
- Drizzle olive oil lightly over the fillets to help them stay moist and add a lovely sheen.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The Boursin cheese should be melted and slightly golden on top.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top if desired for color and a hint of brightness.
One of my favorite memories is how this recipe helped me slow down and connect with my family on one hectic evening. I was rushing to get dinner ready before the kids’ bedtime, but the simple steps and quick bake time turned cooking into a calming ritual instead of a frantic chore.
